“Archive Retrospective”

Feb 6th – March 27th, 2026

This archival exhibition at the Estevan Art Gallery & Museum celebrates the richness of Saskatchewan’s artistic legacy through a compelling selection of landscape works drawn from our collection. Featuring silkscreens by Jerry Didur and David Thauberger, expressive prairie scenes by Susan Unger and Daniel Unger, Group of Seven–inspired paintings by Ernest Lindner, and the quietly beguiling works of Ruth Gerlitz, the exhibition brings together artists who each offer a distinct yet deeply personal vision of place.

Rooted in careful observation and lived experience, these works reflect the diverse ways Saskatchewan artists have responded to the land—its vast horizons, subtle shifts of light, and enduring presence in daily life. Whether rendered through bold graphic forms, expressive brushwork, or contemplative composition, the landscapes on view speak to both the physical beauty of the province and the emotional connections it fosters.
